Susie on flinders

Susie’s career within the tourism and travel industry began in 1987 when she joined worldwide hotel group Trusthouse Forte in its flagship property, the five star Grosvenor House Hotel on London’s exclusive Park Lane. Two years later she joined Nick Jones, today one of the world’s most respected hospitality entrepreneurs, to open London’s exclusive private club, Soho House. She was subsequently, at the age of 23, offered the role of marketing & PR manager for Forte’s five star hotels in London and was soon to co-ordinate the international PR and marketing campaign. In 1994 she entered the world of PR consultancy when she joined a newly formed travel specialist PR agency, McCluskey International.

Over the course of the next 8 years she worked tirelessly to build the company’s impressive portfolio of clients ranging from hotels and resorts to tour operators, cruise lines and government tourist offices. Her experience is entirely global, having successfully launched new campaigns for emerging tourism destinations such as Indonesia, Tasmania, Malta, Hungary and Arizona as well as closer to home – the Guernsey Tourist Board and South West England; she has created launch campaigns for new tour operators such as Turquoise Holidays, Captains Choice Tours and Australian Pacific Touring. She has worked for Silversea Cruises, as well as stand alone hotels and resorts, and groups.

She is highly connected in the world of travel and lifestyle media and has many ‘celebrity writers’ in her black book of contacts.
